I would give anything to hear their laughter again. Looking back at old photographs at them before they were bedridden unlocks a new height of vulnerability that I’ve never experienced before. But even when looking through the photos post diagnoses, their smile doesn't break a bit, and I will never understand how. absolutely phenomenal manipulation of time and tension building. Van is no doubt a great filmmaker in a formal sense.

Perfect in every way imaginable. Stains your skin with marks that leave an inconceivable itch which burns like fire scorching through your limbs. Questions which lead to impossible answers but you continue to search for them, only to find that all the turmoil and madness was inside the layers of your own thick skin. Too far from the answer and too in deep to stop yourself from finding it. It's absolutely brilliant.

One of the greatest films period.
