Holy shit, did not see that ending coming at ALL. Super effective plot twist that didn’t feel shoehorned in but was also a total wild card.
Most effective scene in the movie, for me, was the montage of the cardinals doing modern things, like using an iPhone and vaping. Very stark contrast that pokes fun at the archaic institution of the Church existing in a modern society.

Both funny and completely unnerving. An easily digestible commentary on flawed, war-mongering leadership who make ill-informed decisions at the expense of the working class. The violence was very realistic, and therefore difficult to watch. This must have been a crazy wake-up call to anyone watching the BBC.
I love the docudrama format. I love anything that uses genre conventions in a creative way. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I knew about the subject matter ahead of time.
