The first 20 minutes or so not politics and evil government didn't do much for me, but once we get to the Shaolin temple then it's a lot of fun all the way until the end. All the training chambers are creative and can see how they have inspired other films training pieces. The washing and staff training are so brutal.

This is the youngest I’ve ever seen Gene Hackman in a film, so that’s cool. This movie is just fantastic whenever someone is being followed or chased. But it can drag when just talking police or crime stuff. Luckily most of the film is shadowing or chasing. The car/train chase is of course iconic with real driving and crashes. Great stuff. But I also love all the police hiding and tailing suspects.
I do think the film should have ended…
This is a fun comedy, heist with all the fantasy dressings of dungeon and dragons. Cast is great with Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez working wonderfully together. The plot/quest is simple enough but serves well as a path for a team to come tougher. Plus evil Hugh grant is great.
This continues my theory of “we are going to need a team” always leading to fantastic films.
