The Electric State 2025
Its ruminations on technology, manual labor, and the need for real human connection feel half-baked. Chris Pratt phones in another Great Value Starlord performance. If you took a shot after every on-the-nose needle drop, you’d have an impressive case of alcohol poisoning. It would be too expensive at half the reported budget. And for all of the crash-bang robot action, it feels kind of lifeless. And yet, I didn’t hate The Electric State quite as much as all the negative word-of-mouth had me prepared for.

Elton John: Never Too Late 2024
Even if Elton John: Never Too Late could find a throughline and stick with it, it would likely just be a lesser documentary version of Rocketman. But the doc is such an unfocused mess that even the occasional bits of actual insight get lost in a pretty uninspired shuffle.
