  May be a… perfect film.

  Kind of a miracle too. Feels like 3 different overstuffed, feminist, absurdly post-modern Barbie musical comedies (and their respective inevitable think pieces) being stuffed into a meat-grinder, and yet it’s all just there on the screen before you in its unbridled ambition actually working. Even the uneven parts that don’t fully work or get smoothed over actually work because the entire cast and crew is all cruising together on the same wavelength to make it happen…

  Absolutely wrenching, and relentlessly so. One of the hardest viewing experiences I’ve ever had; right up there for me with the harrowing Schindler’s List and Mass. Leaving the theater, my brother asked me what I thought and I just started to cry again.
