  What i love about art is how interpretation can change everything, this is a great example of how interpretation can change art. A devout muslim can see this as how even in disease they still are grateful for what little they have and it speaks to the viewer on to be grateful. A devout athiest however can see this as a way of showing how can a god truly allow a disease this cruel to exist thus telling the viewer that there is no god, etc,.
