  Captain America: Brave New World 2025

  After a lot of the Disney+ Marvel series, I’ve thought to myself, “that should’ve just been a movie.” It’s tough when I watch this and think, “maybe this should’ve just been an episode.”

  How dare they use Lonerism in vain like that. 

  Also, I KNOW this movie didn’t just copy the ending of Blade Runner 2049

  Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2014

  ★★★★ Rewatched 20 Feb 2025

  While it's easy to point to a myriad of other films that more successfully achieve what this one is going for (Minority Report, Condor, Bourne, etc. - even Blackhat low key steals its cookies), if every MCU movie was this much of a thoughtfully and competently made pastiche that could serve as a launching point to other films, the current film culture would be a much lovelier place. This one was honestly a blast to revisit and feels like a real movie.
