I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Scorsese doesn’t miss. It was a story that needed to be told, and it was told by the right guy. This was such a powerful and thought-provoking watch that was done on such a grand scale. A film that is masterfully crafted in so many ways, and definitely a film that will sit with me for a while.

I’m at a loss of words. It doesn’t get any more ambitious than this. This movie is hundreds of years ahead of its time, and that’s not really an exaggeration. A groundbreaking achievement that has set the blueprints for future cinema, and have also stated it’s case for one of the best sequels of all time.

The Brutalist is a film that deserves all the recognition it gets. It’s historically compelling as it is intellectually stimulating. I love it when filmmakers commandingly stick to their ideas and fully commit in delivering them, whether it works or not. Corbet’s dedication to tell this story is as ambitious as the brutalist himself, making this a film to appreciate to its full extent, even with its flaws. Hope this does well at the Oscars.

Malick’s most immersive project to release, and arguably his most compelling study of man. A great balance between his typical philosophical sequences, and conventional World War II storytelling. From Toll capturing nature in a way that makes it feel like a character of its own, to the blending of silence with Zimmer’s exceptional score, this is just another remarkable film that solidifies Terrance Malick of one of the goats.

A film that faithfully abides to the principles of exactly what a multimedia franchise should look like.

This film captures the imbalances of power, trust, and courage while using fantasies that essentially shaped my childhood. Even within the first 30 seconds of the film, memories of my dad reading the opening crawl text aloud to me before I learnt how to read just bitterly flooded through my mind. I remember recreating epic lightsaber battles with my Lego mini-figures as a…

This film deserves all the recognition it gets. Justine Triet puts together an outstanding screenplay coupled with great delivery, but the use in silence is just as powerful. Hope this does well at the Oscars.
