As far as a pure acting performance this is Will Ferrell’s best. Backed up by monster supporting performances, Stranger Than Fiction is a sneaky great movie. Chalked full of references for the literature nerd in all of us. 4/5

I truly enjoyed about 15 minutes of this movie. The first 45 are like a live action wall-e mixed with a nazi eugenics program. After Ewan and Scar-Jo escape, we see the 15 minutes of true potential this movie offers. This is thrown in the trash by Michael Bay jerking off to smash cuts for the next half hour. Followed by a scene were the story is moving forward... SIKE we‘re going on a car chase to end this piece of shit.

If this brutal coming of age story was in english it would widely be regarded as the best movie ever made. The use of shade, lighting, and music in perfect concert are a master class in cinematography. Shot through different eyes and different story lines through out while still coming together in one seamless narrative is story telling at its finest.
