The characters were smart and realistic, really tackled the nuance of high school emotions. The music was incredible and the tension in Ben Platts voice works so well for the emotional message of the movie.
Cried like a baby after everything is revealed.
Also the fact that he looks a little older only distracted me two short times. A-
Beautiful movie but a waste of some great talented actors. The plot had no stakes or consequences and I think they should have taken more time developing the characters instead of bombarded us with all these new characters. I liked how they didn’t do the troupe of the angry 1950s husband beating his wife but just not enough conflict for me.
Also not nearly enough singing and dancing!
All this movie did for me was show how predictable and lazy writers and Hollywood has become. Cheap “jokes” and super convenient plot points make these great actors fall flat. Margo Robbie was the only one that held up as an actor and she carried this trash heap of a movie. Overall bad, lazy and boring!
