An enjoyable enough excursion into the Hong cinematic universe, but not one that really came together for me in the end. A bifurcated story in which young people want to learn how to be artists by speaking with artists, not realizing the futility inherent in that. Great supporting feline performance!

(Appropriately enough, Hong shared a short, enigmatic clip with the NYFF audience in lieu of an in-person Q&A.)

An enjoyable exploration of the antiquarian book trade in New York City in the age of Ebay and the Kindle.

As someone who used to love collecting (mostly unremarkable) books and media ephemera growing up, the stories here resonated—plus, it’s always fun hearing people talk about their passions. Ultimately, though, this is a pretty by-the-numbers talking heads documentaries.

Really looking forward to being back in a bookstore one of these days.

In which we find out Kate is the real villain. (Seriously, this production really seems to have it out for her.)

Not a movie I was expecting to be watching, but some cringe-inducing clips of it on social media were enough to goad me into viewing this. And honestly? This is better than it has any right to be, namely thanks to the actors playing Harry and Meghan.

Of course, that's not to mitigate the awkward editing, "interesting" acting choices…
