  One of Buñuel’s great skills was painting unflattering portraits of small men and the creep in ÉL, played brilliantly by Arturo de Córdova, is a real piece of work. It’s a joy to watch Buñuel ruthlessly dig into him like he’s dissecting a frog.

  A great fucking time at the movies, and the type of dramatic thriller for adults that’s becoming rarer by the day. No big shootouts, no kids, no shenanigans. Spycraft by way of staring people down at the dinner table. Soderbergh / Koepp are 2 for 2 this year.
