Nightmare Alley 2021
Guillermo del Toro has slowly been becoming one of my favourite directors for a while now, and this film cements him for me as one of the modern greats.
For a film that has no supernatural elements to it, it oozes tension, anxiety, and has a macabre undertone throughout. This results in something that is very captivating and interesting, while being something completely different to the usual fare del Toro works with.
That's without even mentioning the incredible cinematography, fantastic performances, fittingly tense music, and a statisfying conclusion.
Definitely one of my top 5 of the year so far already, utterly fantastic.

Without a doubt the most captivating, engaging, moving, and interesting documentaries I've ever seen.
The greatest gift of all was knowing, after finishing the movie, that I had Rodriguez' music to listen to after this and continue immersing myself in this mysterious and humble man's world.
