    Mickey 17

Bong Joon Ho's next film after his acclaimed Parasite was always going to pale in comparison, but my word this was a huge disappointment. With a very interesting premise Mickey 17 starts off strong, with a quirky sense of humour and Robert Pattinson delivering a brilliant performance. Curtis Hanson's noire epic L.A. Confidential is an absolutely brilliant and thrilling detective film that holds up incredibly well. Set in the backdrop of L.A. in the 50's, it's a beautiful looking film with a finely crafted story and script that is engaging from beginning to end. The three leads are impeccable with superb performances by Crowe, Pierce and Spacey. All these characters have fantastic arcs, all with different ways of tackling crime. As a fan of the video game L.A. Noire you can tell this film was a huge inspiration for it and I loved every moment, another 90's banger.

Chris Sarandon steals the show as the vampire in question, lapping up the scenery and loving every second of it. Whilst Roddy McDowall is a fun tribute to Peter Cushing's…
