Bong Joon Ho is the screenwriter of our times. Loved this so much. So much here on how workers are simply a disposable cog in the capitalist machine, a stark indictment of colonisation and general critiques on societal power structures. Bong has so much to say on the state of society and from Okja to Parasite and now, Mickey 17, he has proven he will never fail to find bombastically dynamic ways of telling his stories.

Criminally overlooked film, deserved Oscar attention in editing, adapted screenplay, supporting actress and lead actor. Takes no prisoners (unlike the US) in pointing fingers at the atrocities of the war on terror.
Edit: yes this edit is two years later but WHY DID WE NOMINATE JODIE FOSTER FOR NYAD AND NOT THIS?!?!?!? like she genuinely deserved a nomination for this why are we playing so much. This was also robbed for Actor, Picture and Adapted Screenplay.
