Overall, I just found it...lazy. Things happened purely for the sake of ticking boxes to match with the original animated film, rather than actually earning it. The songs were forgettable too. To it's credits, the visuals were a huge improvement and the animals were animated well to show emotion

Incredibly well acted and directed. The score elevated the scenes and kept up the suspense and surprises that were scattered across the runtime

The fact that a film about choosing the new Pope could have you glued to the screen is pretty impressive
