As far as tired remakes go this was not absolute garbage.
I really can’t stand the way the dwarves look, the makeup and costuming were trash, Gal Gadot can’t sing, and similar to Wicked I found this movie to be very repressed and muted. The plot was tired and boring but it’s a remake and a children’s movie so I can’t criticize that too much.

Watched a local production of this and I guess I didn’t cry enough so I decided to watch the movie too.
So much heart and laughter. I think I prefer the play but the screen adaptation is gorgeous. My only issue is I can’t really believe Sally Field is Julia Roberts’ mom. They would definitely get the “are you two sisters?”
First movie I’ve seen in the theater in a month and it was kinda worth the wait!
