Realistic portrayal of indecisiveness, simple yet genuine conversations through the setting of a summer romance in Normandy, France.
I thoroughly enjoy Rohmer’s films for it’s hour to two hours long of watching his characters converse over topics under the sun (mostly relationships) as they navigate through their respective situations. It almost feels like I’m eavesdropping yet I always gain something insightful out of their simple interactions. If you expect any action, well there isn’t any —but there’s always interesting things…
