Huge movie for girls who loved the Magic Tree House book Blizzard of the Blue Moon and then saw the unicorn tapestries at the Cloisters. Two stars but in a fun way you had to be there!

The Penguin 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I randomly took like a 4 month break in the middle of watching this but overall really liked it. It did exactly what it needed to do by taking Oz as a comedic villain from The Batman and making him into a truly unhinged and serious one. Sofia and Victor’s stories and performances are great here and I was really truly shocked and sad when Oz clipped Victor in the end. And maybe what establishes Oz as even more truly evil is that he sent Sofia back to Arkham instead of killing her. Welcome back Tony Soprano!

Challengers 2024
Happy to report that we have the movie of the summer, via throuple, slo-mo, sports unis, people wearing each other’s clothes, and a techno soundtrack to run a marathon to. Super cool shots and symmetry, finely-tuned tension in each scene, great performances by the core three and ultimately a super interesting gravity between them. That scoot of the stool before Art sat down with the churros was diabolical. Really loved it!
