Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke 2025
I started Ruby Kraken thinking I’d pace myself—maybe one episode a night, like a responsible adult. Cut to three hours later, and I’m sitting there, slack-jawed, emotionally drained, and contemplating a one-way descent into the depths of Reddit. This documentary isn’t just messed up; it’s fcked up beyond belief.
The sheer audacity of Kevin to sit in front of the camera and talk like he was some helpless bystander? Unreal. Sir, where was all this energy when your kids actually…

Call Me Chihiro 2023
Call Me Chihiro on Netflix is a quiet, introspective film that feels like a warm hug on a lonely day. It beautifully captures the essence of solitude—not just as something to be sad about, but as a state of being that can be deeply meaningful. Juvenile Justice 2022
binge-watching this k-drama because I low-key miss being in the courtroom (minus the seemingly endless paperworks tho!)
I'm not a fan of k-drama in general, but this show got my eyes glued to the screen for its brilliant, brave, & raw attempt to address the prominent, yet often overlooked, concerns in the juvenile justice system. while some bits in the later episodes got me questioning the lead character's decisions, it's still a genuinely gripping & thought-provoking drama with an excellent performance from its ensemble cast & occasional tear-jerking moments.

Maudie 2016
a delicate, tearjerking biopic of a Canadian folk artist, Maud Lewis, that is endearing yet painful to watch; painful because I actually found her relationship with Everett rather abusive at times, endearing because seeing Maud's determination & resilience to live her passion despite her constant struggle as a person with a physical disability was indeed encouraging.
definitely not an easy love story to enjoy (oh Lord, the realistic portrayal of domestic abuse was too heartbreaking to see), but I guess we all could agree that Sally Hawkins & Ethan Hawke were both phenomenal in their roles.
P.S. Sally Hawkins should stop making me cry in her movies :3
