  i was unusually touched by hertzog's involvement in this doc-- more so than i ever have felt previously about directors that act as characters in their own films. his fascination with timothy treadwell, and those who were fascinated with him, was portrayed in a way that was almost biblical. he narrates turning points in godlike general statements, shows everything, and doesn't try too hard to transcend the limitations presented by what material he had to work with. i was suprised…
