Cure 1997
Masterfully built tension through multiple senses. The choice of sound, and lack thereof, created the off-put, stomach churning feeling that lasted the entirety of the film. Long lasting, wide shots with concentrated, anxious movement had a similar effect. A film like Cure can evoke the same feeling after multiple rewatches, always disturbed by setting evil in the light of day.
