  100% the freakiest movie I've ever seen. kind of "dude where's my car" friendship roadtrip vibes if that movie was also challengers and had commentary on mexican class disparities. beautiful set locations/scenery and honestly very educational for someone that doesn't know anything about mexican culture

  pros: it's wolverine fighting ninjas in tokyo which will always be super cool + an amazing after credits scene

  cons: every romance scene (especially all of the jean gray flashbacks). mariko might be the most boring romantic lead of any movie ever, her character gets no depth and basically just gets dragged around by different men the whole movie. she has no chemistry w/ wolverine, half her lines are just "logan! 😩"

  hugh grant was amazingly scary in this one, a24 does it again. great psychological mystery horror that also somehow manages to be really theologically interesting (I especially liked the monopoly analogy). this is kind of like if the prestige was a religious horror film

  this movie really exceeded my expectations, I usually don't like musicals but this one was great. excellent casting and set design, ariana grande was also much better than I thought she would be and I very much enjoyed the last act (hella nice pharah ult by elphaba)
