  Weird, because I loved the book and this is a pretty straight adaptation but this didn't imprint quite as heavily on me in the transition between mediums. I think it's mostly the structure, which very obviously would lend itself to limited series TV, but I don't think does particularly well in film. That, and the early 20th century aesthetic design choices, which don't feel congruent, to me, with what's meant to be a world set 300 years in our future.…

  Woeful, bitter, hopeless, and grim.

  Antithetical to and entirely incongruent with the narrative soul of the saga. Abrams and Terrio (and, I assume, Iger) have broken the myth that George started 42 years ago in such a way that it will never be whole again.

  A soulless producer's Frankenstein monster, stitched from the worst of Star Wars Legends, the blandest of Marvel, and the most thematically muddled of Snyder's DCEU.

  It openly and viciously disrespects anyone looking for deeper meaning…
