By making the ending supernatural, Perkins makes the same mistake many directors of investigative thrillers make, i.e., that man is always scarier than the devil.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera 2025
Is this the first anti-imperialist heist movie? Maybe, maybe not but the club scene where Nick is just the biggest narc who doesn’t know what drugs are, shouts FUCK NATO, tries to fuck the ex of probably some Serbian victim of American’s 90’s wars who’s entire family was annihilated and who still gets absolutely wrecked by Nick in a fight was one of my favorite scenes. Civil War 2024
Politically and socially incoherent, very lib-tarted, but with a sound design nearing Dunkirk levels during times that mattered, the movie made me think but only because the premise, an American Civil War in the 21st century, failed at almost every turn. At best, this film captures a liberal news obsessive’s idea of American euthanasia, rather than what an actual civil war would look like, i.e., what America has done to countries like Iraq, Libya, and Syria, human deprivation and degradation at a scale Americans can’t imagine.

The Killer 2023
1. Fincher letting his nuts hang purchasing the entire Smiths album with that big N money.
2. A great example of how a movie can be set in the present and still show that perpetrating a crime has everything to do with intelligence, rather than the lack of surveillance in a period piece.
3. Michael Fassbender playing one of two natural characters of himself, stoic German, other being maniacal German.Translated from by
