12 Angry Men 1957
I first watched this when I was an impressionable teenager back in the late 1980s. At the time I was surprised that things felt like they hadn’t changed much since it was released in 1957. Rewatching in 2025 it’s just as powerful and sadly its messages are still just as relevant.

National Theatre Live: The Importance of Being Earnest 2025
Joyous version of the classic play, so colourful and so much fun. A clever idea allowing us to see Jack in the act of “Bunburying” before the play proper begins. So many Doctor Who alumni in the cast! Wonderfully queer and every cast member shines.
I wish I’d been able to see it on stage of course, but thankfully NT Live captured it perfectly. Watching in my local cinema in Leamington Spa meant we all had a little titter of recognition when Miss Prism recalls her incident with a temperance beverage!
