  Watching with the “low” budget in mind, I really enjoyed seeing Hellboy in a smaller southern-gothic / witchy / folklore setting. I preferred the B-movie feeling over a star-studded blockbuster. Happy to see Mike Mignola get more creative input on a faithful adaptation. My main gripe is that some CGI shots could have been made with practical effects for dirt cheap.

  BONUS: watch the end credits to see 90% of people involved in the film have names that end with ‘V’

  The stink of piss in the cinema gave me such a bad headache for most of the film. Someone should have taken a leaf out of Travolta’s book and headed to the jax for a while.
