Hours after watching and I'm still astonished as to how Kiarostami weaved real life and reconstruction so perfectly. It's empathetic to the core, with ideas of art, deceit, self worth and ambition presented with tender intimacy. 98 minutes of magic; a treasure of cinema.

It's mind-boggling to even think how someone goes about orchestrating something like this. Tati pretty much ingests 50 years of filmmaking and creates a mosaic of expertly controlled chaos. Each shot is filled to the brim with gags, details and mini-adventures that I know for sure have missed on my first time around. I would say it's overwhelming, but its the best form of overwhelming, because you, the viewer, do the "editing" with your own eyes. You choose what to…

Felt nice to see the late 90s warm London vibes in all its glory. The streets looked immaculate, the interiors had this wistful simplicity about them, and Grant's aloofness felt relatable at times, but I felt zero connection, energy or chemistry between the two leads. She was awful, simply put, and I didn't see the attraction at all in the first meet-up. Should've ended it at the press conference for a solid, fulfilled arc, but of course not, you need to layer on the schmultz.

The definition of hyper-violence, down to the flesh and bone. Real exploitation sadistic-ness about it that makes all the artery-spurting, brain sludge and chopped fingers super entertaining to watch. So many "oh man" cringe-worthy deaths that I lost count. These scenes do come at a frequent pace but the story, the driving force behind these characters, really pull this down for me. The final showdown in all its lurid goriness should've been one for the ages, a la The Raid…

Death of tradition and of an entire race. Prosperous individuals beset by pure evil, greed and malevolence. Scorses paints a genuinely revolting tale that captures the most inhumane people alive and showcases their banality in committing atrocities. It's a tough subject that only a few directors would dare, but with Scorses being Scorsese, he imbues tenderness, understanding and empathy in these characters to construct the most three-dimensional story possible. Every scene is earned and every line of dialogue was written…

An identity crisis fuelled by body horror can make for some unreal, insightful commentary, but Fargeat's insistence on making every single thing a farcical sight to behold makes it lose steam in the long run. I will give it major props for going zany with the prosthetics and the make-up. So well-handled to make some cool-looking abhorrent imagery and Demi Moore here does some expert work in some scenes to sell the soulless reality she lives in.

    I wish the…
