Watching this for the first time in several years in 4k, and it looks absolutely stunning. Criterion really outdid themselves here with a transfer from the original camera negatives. As for the movie, it was a 5 star movie the last time I saw it, and it’s still a 5 star movie.

After a challenging 3-day weekend where we lost power due to inclement weather, I needed something heartwarming to provide some levity. Alexander Payne has the uncanny ability of directing a movie dealing with tragedy and loss while making it feel like a warm hug. I haven’t seen The Holdovers yet, but am sure that I’ll love it as well.
