  this is the first movie i went to go watch on my own in theatres. wonderfully weird, and profoundly life-affirming. poor things traces the arc of the transition from girlhood to womanhood in a way that feels both aspirational and deeply true. i left feeling covered in a coat of fresh snow. i had to pee the whole time but was too hooked to step out. this is the first movie in a long time that i thought was the perfect length - i never thought about time passing at all while watching.
