Bleak Moments 1971
Interesting to see how Mike Leigh delivered his first film very much with almost the exact same ethos and approach as every subsequent film. There are some nice moments in here like Pat's very particular way of indulging in sweets and everyone's fascination with Norman's repetoire of drug-taking guitar songs.

Interesting story, but quite an uninquisitive presentation of it. The most obvious question you could ask about Nasubi and his 15 month saga is why did he never decide to leave? And even though the director claims to have been thinking about that throughout the process, it's never addressed in any meaningful way.
