a bit contrived. themes were relatively unprovoking especially when faced with how cool it was trying to be (and succeeding). yet, i don’t think “violence bad but look how cool it is” was the central point of the film. immediately distinctive as a villeneuve film, but he should stick to sci fi instead of attempting to tackle real world humanitarian crises
