  The director bought everyone in the theater a tequila shot and we got a live performance after the movie. The theater was like only 30% full and everyone - including the full cast of the film - would not stop talking, shouting, and cheering at every character introduction, story beat, sex scene, song, and bird-related death in the movie.   This is trying so hard to make you think that its Japanese setting is somehow relevant, like that it’s homaging Japanese cinema or culture or something, but the constant on-screen kanji and name-dropping of Japanese locations is all a distraction from the fact that this is an awful amalgamation of action-comedy cliches that are entirely American.
