  A solid alt vampire picture, that replaces goth and glam with country western and grime. There are many interesting ideas introduced throughout the film, but I don’t think they any are given the opportunity to fully develop.

  Even when they are not completely successful, the attempted spectacle of a film like this is enjoyable. Having not grown up watching Flash Gordon, I can see why it has such a following - almost two hours of cheesy fun.

  This one probably earned .5-1.5 more ⭐️’s than the story deserves based solely on my unabashed love of Albert Pyun. Too bad he wasn’t able to keep Steve in the suit for more of the run time and cut down to the fish out of water story. Moments of brilliance that are too far apart.
