The pandemic may be the main focal point of Inside, but there is so much more going on here. A masterful meditation on the schism between art and artist, with personal anxiety taking center stage. While technically a comedy special, it's not laugh out loud funny. Instead, Burnham skillfully blends comedy and darkness with his own signature touch, creating something truly emblematic for our time. It manages to be a reassuring hand to hold and an uncomfortable mirror at the same time.

That's what comedy always been about, and Burnham does it better than few others today.

I used to rate Midsommar lower, but if you go a bit method and place yourself into the mindset of the characters and let yourself be swept away into the trance (how you accomplish said trance, I leave to you), it's a legitimately hypnotic experience.
