My prevailing feeling is a bad taste after finding out that it isn't based on a real story. It makes the ethical failure to say anything substantive about the question of zionism, as well anything more than unserious surface level commentary on race and class, utterly indefensible. Hard to not also think there's a deeply exploitative treatment of character traumas (though thankfully not in relation to the holocaust).
Looks and sounds amazing so doesn't feel it's length but I can't help wonder how it took so long to say so little.
