I LIKE WHAT I LIKE OKAY
I suffer from recency bias, so I might give something 5 stars and go back 45 minutes later and give it a 2.
I always struggle to be critical of something so brave and inventive. But I will say that this didn’t work for me because a movie like this shouldn’t have a thesis that is so rushed and reductive. However, this film was picturesque and interesting, and there were too many moments that I liked for me to say that it failed. I will absolutely revisit.
Incredibly hard to watch. Incredibly well-executed. The montage of the two meetings happening at the same time was so powerful.
