    A few absolutely exquisite laugh out loud lines, though I don’t think they were intended as comedy? It’s so cartoonishly grimy that you gotta laugh. 

    DOESNT HE KNOW I DIG HIM

    Also the bit about “just looking out at at the stars
    at night, writing poetry in the sand”. Incredible. 

    Couldn’t tell if the one guy is in blackface or if that’s just supposed to be dirt? 

    The title track song on the soundtrack is the best part of the movie.

    Maybe I’m a sap but damn I just really loved it. Made me laugh and cry. Extremely cozy tearjerker for feeling lonely around the holidays. I saw this in a theater literally full of old people and they all loved it too. Paul Giamatti is so good. The 70s New England vibe is impeccable.
