Ophelia 2018
this movie had the makings to be perfect. amazing costumes, naomi watts, george mackay in eyeliner, the most aesthetic scenery known to man.
however……the story felt like we took a no fear shakespeare, ripped it up, then pieced it partially back together. daisy ridley was stunning but her acting fell really flat for me. how can you have 0 chemistry with george mackay? or maybe it was the script’s fault. i dunno, it was lacking somewhere.

Those twins had it coming
Edit for my boyfriend: I thought the acting was phenomenal and the story is unique and intriguing. I liked the mystery of it all but sort of wished there was more on screen horror instead of so much being left up to interpretation. I want to be scared scared instead of thinking I’m going to be scared and then going ‘oh, that was it?’ Overall good but a little on the boring side.
Also, thumbs down for killing the dog. I hate that horror trope.Translated from by -
