  I loved how developed all the characters were. 
  It feels like an older film for some reason. Like a 5 year old film. 

  That one part when you hear Ruby sing from her parents’ perspective was powerful.

  I might check out the original French film. “La Famille Bélier”.

  
  And that kid from Sing Street is in it! how the years go by…

  Drive My Car 2021

  3 hours… 
  There was SOOOO much talking with zero visual stimulation characters explaining and talking constantly. “When I was younger this.. “ “we were like this…” “the story continues like this…” So. much. talking!
  So many over 20s shots of a car or being on the road but the car itself was no more established than”I’ve had this car for a long time, I practice my lines in the car.” 

  I could stand 1.5 hours of a film like this…

  Over the Moon 2020

  This film is very very very Chinese. Everything good that has to do with China is in this film. When you think China and think of something related, it’s probably in this film. 
  Until it’s not and then I’m thinking “what the heck is that?” 
  I have many Why and How questions in my head. I think my main concerns have to do with world building and not committing to creating a full on believable world and asking the 4W1H…

  The original animated film was about a woman who sneaked into the army to save her father and thrived with her intelligence and strategy. 

  In this remake, they threw that all away and now she has “the power of chi” on her side. She is better than all the men not because she is as an intelligent and witty person but because she has some sort of super human skill. This takes so much away from what Mulan’s tale is…
