It’s a really really really really pretty movie. Am I the only one that probably grossly underestimates the difficulty of coming up with a story like this? Not that it needs to be difficult to be good, ofc it doesn’t. But I wasn’t taken on the wild roller coaster I thought it’d be -

Going to call my girlfriend beep boop now when she acts like a robot 🤣🤣 (girlfriends do this all the time, sometimes I have to be like “girlfriend of mine, stop behaving like a robot”) 🤣🤣🤣

Consuming good art is like peeling back veils that cover reality and truly discovering something about the self or the world.
This film asks its audience to focus on and observe uncomfortable but real slices of life- the result is reflective discussion bound to last long after the credits roll.

BIG shoutout to Jensen for the Sundance ticket! Because watching this in an intimate crowd of 30 people and then getting to ask the director questions afterwards was pure magic.

Don’t be fooled and assume this is actually a masterpiece.
Unfortunately, our film reel malfunctioned and leaked the sands of Arrakis all through the theater. As a result my head was filled with visions of a film demonstrably respectful towards the genre but so fresh that it felt revelatory. I hallucinated every scene into a meticulously crafted work of art that ultimately found its home in the greater whole exactly where it had to be and nowhere else.
    So of…
