It’s always nice when we get a good horror comedy like this. While definitely leaning much more into the comedy side of the equation, there’s still some good horror moments peppered throughout. Plus, it’s just a whole lot of fun. The cast is all completely on board and help land several of the jokes. My only real gripe is it feels like it takes a minute for the film to really get going. While there are some funny moments and…

Soderbergh pulls off another winner within a span of two months this year. A clever and deeply engaging spy thriller where the answers aren’t as clear as you think. Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett are in top form as the married couple who are both spies involved a large conspiracy. There’s also a surprising amount of humor running throughout the film that compliments the various twists and turns happening throughout the runtime. Good on Soderbergh for the double win this year.

Love how they kept this a secret until just dropping it out of the blue on Adult Swim and Max. As a big fan of the original, this was a welcome surprise. And I’m pleased to say they do an incredible job of continuing where they left off. The Hallmark Christmas movie meets horror film is so ingeniously done and provides a constant stream of laughter. Characters are just as engaging with the actors once again all in on the…

Samara Weaving sure knows how to pick the horror films she decides to be in. Starring in a film which is mostly silent thanks to the Rapture having happened and a cult vowing silence, this easily could have gone down as a gimmick film only. Instead we get a pretty riveting story of survival coupled with some pretty tense action scenes. Plus, some really cool looking creature effects for monsters in this film and teases of a world I would enjoy finding out about more. Another winner for scream queen Weaving.
