This an absolutely PERFECT musical! The outfits are amazing! The songs & dance scenes are brilliant! And the story is interesting, & so funny. Even if you don't like musicals, the story is good enough to take you past the fact that it is a musical.

I was expecting another lame modern remake; but I really liked this movie. It definitely has the feel of a stage musical put to film. So if you don't like those, you won't like this movie. I thought it was very fun; & had a good message of not being afraid of being yourself, even if you have to stand alone. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good Hugh Grant was as an Oompa-Loompa. He totally has the sarcastic attitude down.

I remember going to see this on it's release date during a very tough time in my life. It not only touched my heart & made me laugh; but it was also an inspiration on how to fix a broken family life - if the 2 people involved actually put the principles into practice. I have heard some say it was low budget; but I think they did an amazing job for being low budget!! If you want to see a movie about the power of selflessly loving another person - go see this film!! <3
