I feel like Christian Bale used this as inspiration for Terminator Salvation. The reference might be a bit dated, but that's okay with me. Overall, it was a good movie.
This documentary gave me a new perspective on Will Ferrell and the trans community. Sure I’m a fan of most of Will Ferrell’s work, but this completely humanized him in my opinion. Everything he did in during the documentary felt genuine and authentic. To me, the true star of this documentary is Harper Steele who just wants the world to see her as she sees herself. If she doesn’t change your opinion of this community by the end of the film then I guess you have no empathy.
Michael Sarnoski brings tremendous emotion to the script which is perfectly executed by the cast. Thankfully what could have been a big-budget, CGI-filled action film, instead makes the smart decision to tell a more grounded personal story. I would recommend this to anyone who was a fan of the first two. Also, Frodo deserves the Best Supporting Actor award at the very least.
Alien Romulus is an enjoyable film if this is your first stop into the alien universe. For those who have watched the highs and lows, this installment does little to expand the mythology and leans too heavily into the original.
