I was expecting this to be a silly little movie about old people playing baseball but I was honestly kind of moved by this. While it is in fact a silly movie about old people playing baseball, it’s also a beautiful portrait of not wanting to grow old and holding on to parts of yourself for as long as you can. The movie is slow (like baseball) so it won’t be for everyone, but I really loved this quirky, funny, strange little movie and I see myself going back to it many times over the next few years. Got me fired up for baseball season too.

Black Bag 2025
Hell yeah this movie was so damn good. Such a tight and well written script that did everything it needed to in a short runtime. Two incredible performances by the leads and a lot of fun supporting players around them. This movie has a fascinating view on marriage and what it means to keep secrets in a relationship, but it also just works really well as an awesome whodunnit spy thriller. First really great movie of the year.

Initial reaction is that this movie is just super fun. I’ll for sure be thinking about the themes, ideas, and execution for a while and trying to figure out if it all comes together and works. All that aside this is a unique and original story and something really different than Bong has ever done before, while still keeping his flavor and really putting his stamp on it. Loved all the performances but Pattinson specifically was lights out. Such a good time at the movies.
