    "Don't regret. Remember."
what a beautiful movie. unbelievably so. the acting and writing were so convincing that I felt like I was watching something private and real, that I shouldn't have been given access to. I don't think I'll ever forget the last extended shot of this film. absolutely heartbreaking.
women need to be allowed and encouraged to make more movies. quite possibly the best film I've ever seen.

short and very sweet coming of age story. i vibe with the Saoirse Ronan wall.

after this and scrubs, I'm now pretty convinced that Elliot is a top tier name for a girl.

i really hope Aubrey Plaza is doing alright. life and its ironies are so fucked.

upon rewatching this (again) I'm bumping it up to a full 5/5. i am enthralled by everything about this movie. Kirsten dunst turned in something career defining. the pacing of tense action sprinkled across world building and great character work, before the insane cathartic closer, was masterfully done. sound design was ridiculously good, every gunshot felt earthshattering. jesse plemons had 5 minutes and left a fucking mark. garland had a lot to say here, a decent amount about a potential civil war, but mostly it's a critique/observation about journalistic methods, motivation, and efficacy. i'm so into this shit man
