god this was so great. extremely original and clever in so many ways, and had hanna and i laughing the entire time (specifically at the car button bit, and when the creature said “say what?”). loved the weird little aliens and i literally always enjoy when trump’s dipshit genocidal loser self + his nazi clown administration gets made fun of. ruffalo was a little ham fisted and not quite what i wanted, but no notes for the rest of the cast. i particularly loved steven yeun and rpat

ridiculous, goofy, campy, gory, pretty funny, and well-cast. although theo james is about the least believable dork-type but you won't hear me complain! i love love stephen king and adaptations of his work often miss greatly so this was a pleasant surprise for me

this would have been SO GOOD if they didn’t shoot themselves in the foot by revealing every detail in the trailers/poster. had they kept the ~companion~ aspect a secret and not marketed it so heavily, it would’ve been a Barbarian level reveal like they implied. still funny and well-cast, just underwhelming

oh i LOVED this. i’ve stumbled into a few long distance “relationships” myself and this did such an accurate job of depicting the longing, miscommunication, and muddiness of it all. floored the whole time by her husband’s security in their relationship and their incredibly open communication with each other. (for the love of god, take notes boys!) the actors nailed it across all time spans. such a beautiful movie and hanna and i both definitely cried at the end and tried to pretend we didn’t
