Not sure what I expected, but this just felt empty. I didn’t mind the lack of explicit political argument that seems to have bothered a lot of other people - I can fill in the blanks there myself - I just wish it made me care about even one of the characters. Felt like a shortcoming of the script for the most part, filled with contrived moments so I had a hard time being invested in their personal journeys.

I don’t consider myself a film purist with staunchly anti-Marvel views or anything, but it says something when the innovations in film form of the 1960s excite me way more than the innovations in CGI of the last 15 years ever have.
The camerawork in this film is dope. Yeah it’s loud, but it serves the paranoia and feels fucking COOL. Clearly a huge influence on filmmakers like Darren Aronofsky.
