Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- 2025
Seen more Gundam shit in my 33 years than most any other property, so was stoked to finally see something from the franchise on the big screen. First half of this new work directly adapts and reworks a good chunk of the 1979 original series to create a divergent timeline, while the second half goes way more modern with Trigger-esque visuals and character design that I wasn’t super in love with, despite liking the world building and some specific story…

This made me cry and think about my mom alot (not to mention our own currently encroaching authoritarian political environment) Thought this might’ve been a concoction of amalgamated stories under the Brazilian dictatorship in the 70’s but it’s actually fully factual of a real life family, and the photos of them at the end were devastating and beautiful

Clemency 2019
This grand jury winner lacks anything close to subtlety. It knows what it’s depicting is bad, all of the characters know it’s bad and as the audience, you better know it’s bad. No real change from the first scene to the last. Some decent performances but all of them unfortunately one note
