a real step up from both the special and the series! also the men of the office are like way less misogynist which is always welcome. the main case itself really drew me in, and it's nice to see the office from some new angles. a little more drama which is nice. also the inclusion of courtroom drama was VERY welcome bc the tv show mostly didn't acknowledge the court process or defenders

it's an interesting choice to feature an entirely new cast only for a 2-hour special but i had fun. as a yakuza player it was nice to see kiichi nakai and shinichi tsutsumi again in roles unlike what i've seen before. plotwise it's pretty similar to the first tv finale in structure and is EXTREMELY predictable...? but so was most of the tv show, and i did go "cool motive still murder" after the confession. overall, i was kinda ambivalent…
